  • The best preschool in the area. Both my children have attended this preschool and I could not have asked for a better start for them. The centre offers children personalised care in a welcoming, fun and structured setting. The experienced staff take the time to get to know your children and take every opportunity to engage them in meaningful learning experiences.

  • I haven’t had any issues with the preschool, they keep you informed of what is happening and they have a monthly newsletter to keep you updated. My son loves going, so much so that the first day I took him, once he’d seen all the outdoor equipment he never looked back at me. So thats the start of many of these instances like that I guess. But it’s been a good experience so far and all the staff are very helpful and informative as well.

  • Very accommodating and friendly people, a pleasure to deal with! My child is excited to go on his school days 🙂 thank you!

What our parents ask about Greystanes childcare centre

Finding a quality child care service in Greystanes is no easy task, but we have provided answers to some frequently asked questions to help make this a little easier.

  • Government-run childcare centres in Greystanes can be a great option for families looking for affordable early childhood education, as some of these centres offer free or heavily subsidised care. However, it's essential to keep in mind that these facilities often have long waitlists due to high demand. Families considering this option should apply as early as possible to secure a place for their child.

For those exploring other childcare options, the Australian Government provides financial assistance through the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), which helps reduce out-of-pocket expenses for families using approved childcare services. The amount of subsidy you receive depends on factors such as household income, activity level (e.g., work, study, volunteering), and the type of childcare service chosen.

To determine your eligibility and the level of financial support available, it's important to contact Centrelink or visit the Services Australia website. Families in Greystanes can also explore local childcare providers to compare costs and find a service that best suits their needs and budget.

  • All early childhood education and care services follow the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), which guides learning through play-based experiences that support children's development.

The EYLF focuses on key areas:

    • Exploration & Problem-Solving: Hands-on activities like building, experimenting, and investigating encourage curiosity and confidence.

    • Communication & Language: Through stories, songs, and group discussions, children learn to express thoughts and emotions.

    • Gross Motor & Risky Play: Climbing, balancing, and running help develop coordination, strength, and resilience.

    • Social Development: Group activities teach teamwork, sharing, and fairness in a fun and engaging way.

    • Emotional Intelligence: Role-play and mindfulness help children understand emotions, develop empathy, and build friendships.

Early learning centres provide age-appropriate, interest-based activities to support these areas, helping children grow into confident and capable learners.

  • To help children adjust to the longer days of primary school, many preschools and early learning centres encourage families to gradually increase attendance in the months leading up to the transition.

For children aged 2-3 years, attending at least two days per week can provide a strong foundation, helping them settle into routines, build relationships, and develop confidence in a learning environment. From 3-5 years, increasing to at least three days per week further supports their social, emotional, and self-help skills, making the transition to school smoother.

Regardless of how many days your child attends an early learning centre in Greystanes, they will benefit from rich learning experiences that nurture their independence, resilience, and readiness for school.

  • Early learning centres may use different names such as daycare, childcare, early childhood education, preschool, or kindy, but they all share the same commitment to providing high-quality education and care for young children. While branding may vary, the fundamental principles of early learning remain consistent across all services.

Regardless of their name, all centres follow the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), which provides a play-based approach to learning, fostering curiosity, confidence, and essential life skills in children from infancy to school age. The EYLF focuses on key developmental areas, ensuring that children engage in activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth.

Additionally, all early learning services operate under the National Quality Framework (NQF), which includes the National Quality Standard (NQS) and National Regulations. These guidelines ensure that all services meet strict safety, education, and well-being standards, covering areas such as:

    • Educational programs and practice that support children's learning and development.

    • Health and safety measures, including hygiene, nutrition, and physical activity.

    • Qualified and experienced educators who foster positive relationships with children.

    • Safe and inclusive environments that encourage exploration and creativity.

    • Strong partnerships with families to support each child’s unique learning journey.

Whether a centre calls itself childcare, early learning, or kindy, families can be assured that all services are held to the same high standards, providing nurturing, engaging, and high-quality early education experiences for every child.

  • Early learning centres, much like daycares, kindergartens, and preschools, all follow the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), which guides educators in working closely with families and children to support their development.

    The EYLF focuses on fostering:

    • Confident identities – Helping children feel a sense of belonging and independence.

    • Communication skills – Encouraging language development, self-expression, and meaningful interactions.

    • Health and well-being – Supporting physical activity, emotional resilience, and healthy habits.

    • Curiosity and exploration – Inspiring problem-solving, creativity, and a love for learning.

    • Resilience and adaptability – Helping children navigate challenges and develop persistence.

Educators design play-based programs using the EYLF, ensuring that each child's individual needs, strengths, and interests are nurtured. By working in partnership with families, early learning centres create engaging, inclusive, and supportive environments where children can thrive.
